After completing his first year training covering the manufacture of personal equipment, Josh Martin has moved  to our Bostomatic 32GS milling centre. His training will cover both operation and programming.

Apprentices pass ONC and NVQ (July 2015)

Congratulations to Nick Stone and Thierry Chapman for each passing both ONC in Mechanical Engineering and NVQ Engineering Level 3. Thierry will continue working along side our skilled toolmakers and Nick has moved to our experienced Jig Grinding department. Nick is continuing to study for a HND Mechanical Engineering.

Dom - the VDI / IAP / TK low PPo2 collaboration continues....

In the centre of the Mischabel mountain range in Valais lies the Dom peak: "Dom of Mischabel" - Photo by Zacharie Grossen   Mid-July 2015 found an eclectic team - Jeffrey Hesler of VDI, Arnie Schroeder of the IAP, Bern, Trevor Walker and Lucy & Richard Wylde from TK - in the canton of Wallis in the south of Switzerland.  Organized as a return match from the VDI/TK trip up Mt.Rainier in 2014, the attempt on the highest mountain fully in Switzerland proved to be quite as challenging as expected. Thomas Keating welcomes Maxine Gregory (April 2015)

Maxine joins Thomas Keating with her position being Business Manager and Company Secretary for the Space, Instruments, Toolmaking and Electro-forming Companies within the Churchwood Group. Maxine s back ground  experience has been as Senior Project Manager, Business and Accounts Manager and Head of Finance for multi-national blue chip companies.

QO Bench delivered to ISRO, Ahmedabad

In January 2015 we delivered a novel Quasi-Optical bench to SAC, Indian Space Research Organization, in Ahmadabad in Gujarat, India. Designed for both accurate complex material measurements and the characterisation of Dichroic Plates (DCP's), our circuit allow both normal incidence, but - unusually - also specular and scattering  reflection measurements. SAC are developing a range of DCP's for use in future meteorological satellite radiometers. Thanks to Dr S B Chakrabarty and Ila Agnihotri  (The latter pictured on the left of Richard Wylde [The bald chap] in this image) and their colleagues for their hard work and enthusiasm during the design and installation of the project.  ...
